UPDATE (7-16-19)

As of July 16th, 2019 you can no longer include "child" or "nested" menu items in your Persistent Menu. Facebook has removed this ability. You are still allowed up to 3 main navigation items in your menu.

UPDATE 8-26-21

The Welcome Message is now located in the "Default Messaging" section.

Step 1: Go to Default Messaging

Step 2: Select Welcome Message

Step 3. Enter Greeting Message

Step 4: Turn on the toggle

Step 5: Select Chat Engage Bot

Step 6: Click Save

Here is the flowchart of how to do the Persistent Menu.

Step 1: Go to Default Messaging

Step 2: Click Persistent Menu 

Step 3: Click Add Parent Menu Item and enter a Menu Title

Step 4: Choose Button Action. You have 2 types:

1. Select Chat Engage Bot
2. Open URL

Step 5: Turn on the Active Menu.

Step 6: Click Send Menu to Facebook.

Note: You are allowed 3 Parent menu items. You must set up your Welcome Message first before sending your menu to Facebook.
